Past Program
Brian Saroken is a Managing Director and Certified Financial Planner in the wealth management division at Bank of America Merrill Lynch & Harlan Saroken is a Managing Director in Marketing & Investor relations group at King Street Capital Management, a $20 billion+ alternatives investment firm. While Harlan still has to call Brian to figure out what to do with her 401k, they both agree that in order to raise two unaffected boys in Manhattan, it is critical to ensure that their kids establish a healthy relationship with money and understand the core concepts of spending, saving and donating.
Brian is a 1997 graduate of the University of Maryland (Go Terps!) and spends his free time on the little league fields, disregarding his age while playing trampoline dodgeball with the boys, and (loudly) cheering on the Yankees and Rangers.  Harlan graduated from Harvard University in 1997 and also spends enough time at the ballfields to be on a first name basis with Umberto who runs the snack cart at Randall’s Island and the guards at Yankee Stadium.  She is also the resident “planimal” and considers the spreadsheet a Top 10 invention.

Brian, Harlan and their boys are also actively involved with a number of charitable organizations including Central Synagogue’s breakfast program and the NYU Langone Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital and, in addition to providing financial support, spend significant time doing hands-on volunteer work as a family to teach their children about “giving back.”
